The Liberal Narrative on TV

One of the reasons the young are more liberal than older people is that that have less experience with reality, and a lot more experience with television. And on television you mostly find the liberal narrative of reality. We're all familiar with the enormous number of female police captains on TV these days, and their toughness and integrity are beyond dispute. Reality just hasn't caught up with this splendid state of affairs. Another place where reality is lacking is the lack of presence of some sort to very intelligent (tho sometimes nerdy) black guy in every group. Indeed, on TV, groups are always diverse as all get-out, and of course all the better for it. And, Lord know, reality comes a distant second from TV when it comes to portraying all those brilliant Black scientists. Libertarianism, Property Rights, and Immigration

In all human cultures that I've ever heard of, some property is privately owned, and some is collectively owned. In some, only one's mud hut and actual physical belongings are privately owned, and everything else belongs to the people as a whole. In others, much more is privately owned, and much less is collectively owned. And it's described in different ways. Sometimes "the state" owns property, sometimes it's the king, or the tribal chief, and sometimes the latter two own everything in theory but grant the use of things to individuals, which, effectively, means that the individuals own them. So I'm not terribly impressed by anarchist theories that call for a systemt whereby all property is privately owned. As far as I know, that's basically an impossible ideal So I have no problem with the American people collectively owning the country to the extent that they have a veto over who can be invited in.
