Heil, Grandpa!


There are a lot of ways to look at World War II, many contradictory, but also valid. One way is this: After World War I, the Central Powers were devastated. Austria fell apart completely, and Germany lost lots of territory and was being basically looted by the winners. And the latest scheme for wrecking Western Civilization, communism, was triumphant in Russia and threatening to take Germany as well. There was resistance to all this in Germany, and the most successful movements coalesced around Hitler, who imitated many of the methods of Mussolini, who had been successful at squashing the red menace in Italy. So, to a large extent, Naziism, and of course other forms of fascism, were just reactions to the attack on civilization by the communists [link]. To the communists and their liberal pimps, of course, the allies in the West fighting Naziism were just as bad as the Nazis, because they weren't communists.

After the war, the naive allies permitted the communists and their liberal pimps to operate a "denazification" program in Germany, eradicating not just Nazi ideology, but the very ideas Western Civilization is built on. We see the results today, when a German Chancellor welcomes millions of enemy saracens in to destroy the place. And that was just practice. The "denazification" process was extended all over the West in the form of Cultural Marxism and Political Correctness. Hence the quibcag, hence the following from John Derbyshire at VDare [link]:

In all human cultures that I've ever heard of, some property is privately owned, and some is collectively owned. In some, only one's mud hut and actual physical belongings are privately owned, and everything else belongs to the people as a whole. In others, much more is privately owned, and much less is collectively owned. And it's described in different ways. Sometimes "the state" owns property, sometimes it's the king, or the tribal chief, and sometimes the latter two own everything in theory but grant the use of things to individuals, which, effectively, means that the individuals own them. So I'm not terribly impressed by anarchist theories that call for a systemt whereby all property is privately owned. The Liberal Narrative on TV

One of the reasons the young are more liberal than older people is that that have less experience with reality, and a lot more experience with television. And on television you mostly find the liberal narrative of reality. We're all familiar with the enormous number of female police captains on TV these days, and their toughness and integrity are beyond dispute. Reality just hasn't caught up with this splendid state of affairs. Another place where reality is lacking is the lack of presence of some sort to very intelligent (tho sometimes nerdy) black guy in every group. Indeed, on TV, groups are always diverse as all get-out, and of course all the better for it. And, Lord know, reality comes a distant second from TV when it comes to portraying all those brilliant Black scientists. The USS Liberty Five Decades Later

Many years ago, I was discussing the six-day war with a young Jewish college student, and he remarked: I wish the war had lasted longer so we could have killed more Arabs. How do you like that 'we'? Clearly, he identified with Israelis considerably more than with Americans, and that seems to be the case with far too many American Jews. Somehow, I don't think he ever got around to joining the US Armed Forces to help out in Vietnam. He would probably have been self-righteously opposed to that  war. Chances are good that even if you've been reading this blog for awhile that you've never heard of the Liberty,  an American ship that was attacked by Israeli forces fifty years ago this week.
